The English College, Dubai celebrates strong A Level and BTEC results for Class of 2024

The English College, Dubai’s class of 2024 achieved impressive A Level and BTEC results, with students securing places at top global universities.

The English College, Dubai is proud to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2024, whose hard work and dedication have resulted in outstanding A Level and BTEC results. With a 99% A Level pass rate and 100% BTEC pass rate, students demonstrated resilience and academic excellence across a wide range of subjects.

The 107 students who sat A Levels achieved 9% A*, 24% A*-A, 55% A*-B, and 81% A*-C. Among the 14 BTEC students, 59% earned Distinction*, 24% Distinction, 14% Merit, and 3% Pass. The BTEC cohort achieved 100% pass rate, with 83% of students receiving Distinction*-Distinction.

Chris Ray, Head of Sixth Form, remarked:
"The results we have seen today reflect the hard work, determination, and resilience of our students. These achievements are more than just numbers—they represent years of effort, growth, and commitment. Our teachers, support staff, and families have all played a vital role in this success."

Students from the cohort will be attending top universities across the UK, UAE, and beyond, including The University of Manchester, University College London (UCL), The University of Edinburgh, and McGill University. University destinations span fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Law, Economics, and Biomedical Science.

Notable achievers include Diya (Economics, UCL), Chris (Mathematics and Computer Science, The University of Manchester), Syed (Software Engineering, McGill), Ella (Biological Science, The University of Exeter), and Alisha (Law, The University of Edinburgh). Four students will go on to study Medicine internationally.

Principal Emily Hopkinson shared:
"I am incredibly proud of our Class of 2024. These results are a testament to their hard work and the outstanding teaching they have received. Considering this was the first post-pandemic cohort to sit GCSEs, their success is even more commendable."

Nicola Hamer, Head of Secondary, added:
"Beyond academics, our students have shown maturity and resilience. Their achievements have made the entire school community proud, and we look forward to seeing all that they accomplish next."

For those students who did not meet their university offers, the school provided full support through the clearing process and will continue to offer guidance until each student secures a placement aligned with their aspirations.
