7:45 – 8:00am Students start the day by registering promptly, setting a positive and organised tone. This helps them prepare mentally for a successful day of learning.
8:15 – 10:15am Students engage actively in core lessons, building strong foundations in literacy, maths and science through interactive teaching.
10:15 – 10:35am Students take a well-earned break, socialising and relaxing to refresh their minds and bodies before returning to lessons.
10:35am – 12:35pm Students continue learning with dynamic lessons designed to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and collaborative skills.
12:35 – 1:15pm Students enjoy a nutritious lunch, refuelling and connecting with peers in a friendly environment that supports wellbeing.
3:00pm – 3:10pm Students explore creative and problem-solving activities, enhancing their knowledge and teamwork in this final lesson block.
3:00pm – 3:10pm Students prepare calmly for pick up, ensuring a smooth and safe end to their school day.

Students start their journey with a warm welcome letter from the Head of Year 7. They can choose a friend to join their tutor group, helping build connections. This letter also outlines key upcoming events, preparing students and parents for the exciting transition ahead at The English College.
At our British school in Al Quoz, students receive detailed transition information including what to bring and their new tutor group. Transition events are organised for both students and parents; this clear guidance ensures they feel prepared and confident for the next stage of their education.
Students attend a themed Transition Day focused on ‘All about me’. This engaging day helps them get comfortable in their new surroundings, meet staff and peers and feel excited about joining The English College community in August.
Students participate in an introductory school day to learn routines and connect with their form tutor. They also support parents at the coffee morning and online parents evening, where experiences are shared and questions answered to ensure a smooth start to Year 7.
